National Conference for College Women Student Leaders (NCCWSL)

The Women’s Center is accepting applications for a limited number of scholarships which covers the registration fee for the National Conference for College Women Student Leaders (NCCWSL).

The National Conference for College Women Student Leaders (NCCWSL) is an annual conference sponsored by the American Association of University Women (AAUW) and Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education (NASPA) focused on developing successful female leaders. Women gather from throughout the nation to discuss and learn about contemporary issues facing leaders. At NCCWSL, you will attend workshops, hear from some of today’s most inspirational women, and have the opportunity to network with professionals, graduate schools, and many others. But the best experiences and lessons will most likely be learned from other conference attendees you will meet – people from different places who have unique experiences and viewpoints. In previous years the conference hosted Roxane Gay among others as keynote speakers. Past participants favorite sessions consisted of “Careers that do Good,” “Queer Core: An Identity Open Mic,” “Nursing, Medicine and Medical Research” and “Radically Unfinished: A Session on Women’s Confidence.” Our past participant, Brittany, stated that “I walked away feeling empowered in my confidence and my ability to succeed. It was refreshing to be in rooms with women that aim to change the world…”  More information about the conference can be found here.

This year’s conference will be held virtually on May 25 – May 26, 2021!

Both undergraduate and graduate students are eligible.
Preference will be given to students who will be enrolled at UConn for the 2021-22 academic year.
